Easter Rally
(April)

The following photographs were provided by Ken Surplice (Parker 21'Saffie').

Though the weather was not kind, it was relatively warm for this early SSA rally. Eleven Parker and Seal boats

Here are Kate and her young brother Paul on their parents Parker 21, 'Saffie'.
Kate was the youngest crew member on the 1998 anniversary cruise.		 Here is a shot of a number of Parker and Seal boats dried out at Eling, which is at the top of Southampton Water. The crew of 'Saffie' are joined by John Coyle, the treasurer of the SSA.

Though the rally took the fleet to the Hamble and Island Harbour on the Isle of Wight, there was, unfortunately, only this one photograph taken to record the event. (Spot the Parker yachts)

Newtown And Yarmouth Rally
(1-3 May)

The following photographs, taken by Brenda Harvey, the Secretary, record something of the Newtown and Yarmouth rally. Yet again there was a good turnout of SSA Seal and Parker yachts. 19 boats assembled in Newtown on Saturday the 1st May. Thankfully the weatherman got the forecast wrong, for one that threatened some rain, never materialised, and the rally had fine sunny weather each day.

Here are some of the fleet gathered in Newtown River. Lunch was taken at the New Inn at Shalfleet. Here are some of the members taking the sun after lunch. One of the younger members of the Association, Robert Lowry.

Saturday evening all members gathered on the duver at the entrance to Newtown River for a beach party.

Sunday morning dawned misty but this soon cleared. All yachts then sailed to Yarmouth for lunch at the Royal Southern Yacht Club. However, most had to anchor outside for an hour as the harbour was full.

The number of photographs of this rally are limited as ZEST was involved in an accident and returned to its home base after the BBQ at Keyhaven.

Beaulieu Rally
(19, 20 June)
