The fleet of 10 SSA boats assembled though 'Stroller', a Parker 27, was not part of the rally.

The results of a collection for Martin's new 325!

On the Wednesday 16th July, SSA members met with the those of the Carentan sailing club (or Le Club des Croiseurs Cotiers, CCC) where burgees were exchanged between Walter Brown Commodore of the SSA and David Lechatreux, President of the CCC

The event was recorded by Maryse Belleux and Jacqueline de Bonfils for La Press and Ouest France

That evening the fleet members gathered for dinner at the Auberge Normande Carentam.

The day started very wet with a Southerly F6. Before setting off, and notwithstanding it was pouring down with rain, Walter decided to try out his new Tinker safety dinghy.

The following day half the fleet sailed to Cherbourg judging this to be the best point to cross the Channel. The rest opted to do so from St Vaast
