AGM 2004

13 14 March 2004

The AGM took place this year at The Royal Cornwall Yacht Club, Falmouth on the 14th March preceded by a visit to the Maritime Museum on the previous day.

In the afternoon of Saturday 13 March, a number of the SSA members gathered at the Maritime Museum at Falmouth. The visit began  with a 30 minute talk from Peter Mason

Roger and Cheeky Browne receiving the South West Area Award Sue Surplice and and Jennifer Lowry received the Solent Area Award that was awarded  taking Vol-au-Vont from Little Hampton to Bembridge after the skipper 'jumped ship' Alex Lowry being presented with the , accepting the Sand Castle trophy on behalf of the team of Kate Surplice,  James Cunnison and Mathew Smith.  Angus Primrose award presented to Dave Kenyon by Chris Brown wife of the Commodore

Following the AGM some members had lunch at the Yacht Club before starting their journey home

The picture below is of John Harburn receiving the Newsletter award on the 22 March for his articles detailing his solo round Britain trip in his Parker 31.

The award was presented by the Commodore, Walter Brown. The vice-commodore, Clifford Miller was also present.

 John could not attend the AGM to accept his award.
